| Join the core teachers of New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care in the exquisite Mexican Maya Rivera for a week of study and ease. Each day we will examine and experience the six perfections of Generosity, Ethics, Patience, Vigor, Concentration and Wisdom and explore how they affect our self care and care of the world. Clean air, endless vistas, fresh food, warm waters, and good friends, this retreat will be one of restoration, peace, beauty and reflection.
We will begin each day with meditation and talks led by teachers Koshin, Chodo and Jinpu, followed by free time to relax, on the beach, get a massage, go fishing, or visit ancient Mayan ruins. Yoga classes offered each day with a local teacher. We will regroup together for sitting and teachings in the late afternoon.
NYZCCC has reserved the entire Shambala Petit Hotel for the week. The hotel is made up of exquisite individual cabanas nestled together on the white sands. All our breakfasts and lunches will be served on site each day, and Tulum is filled with fun places to eat dinner.
Koshin Paley Ellison, MFA, LMSW, is the Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. Koshin is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Buddhist Studies. Koshin is currently a Jungian Analyst Candidate at the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association
Trudi Jinpu Hirsch, BFA, ZPO, ACPE, is a Soto Zen Buddhist Priest. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Buddhist Studies . Jinpu was a monastic at Zen Mountain Monastery for eleven years. Jinpu trained as a professional dancer and artist and has many years of training in mask making, as tools for transformation.
Robert Chodo Campbell, is a Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. Chodo is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Buddhist Studies. He is Co-Director of Contemplative Care Services for the Department of Integrative Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center. |

Retreat Logistics
• Retreat begins at 5:30 pm with dinner on Sunday, April 10th, and ends after breakfast on Saturday, April 16th, 2011.
• Retreat includes: Double occupancy cabana, Dharma Talks, daily yoga classes, dinner on the first evening, breakfast and lunch each day.
• Cabanas are for two people to share with 2 singles or one king bed and private bath.
• Transportation, airfare and dinners are not included in retreat price.
• First deposit ($400) with retreat application due by November 1, 2010.
• Second deposit ($600) due January 1, 2011.
• Final Deposit($550) due February 15, 2011.
